Record Breaking Product Drop

In my time at Sage Crystals, I’ve leveraged creative marketing strategies that transformed customer engagement into direct revenue. One of my best successes involved a surprise product drop on our website after featuring a similar product on our Instagram Live Sale, which sold out instantaneously and subsequently left many customers disappointed at not having the opportunity to purchase. With the Live Sale occurring on Tuesday, I began to tease the upcoming product launch on Wednesday evening and Thursday. The product, called Pink & Purple Pegmatite Stone, dropped Friday morning with an early morning email blast (as we reward email subscribers with first access), and a subsequent cross-platform social announcement.

This drop yielded our best online sales day ever, with a record online sales increase of 521% over the daily average, and a 173.7% increase in daily online traffic.

Additionally, the product sold out within one hour.

Engaging Email Marketing

To celebrate the birthday of our company’s co-founder, I designed an email scavenger hunt to encourage new email signups, boost our website traffic, and to get customers to explore our product offerings with focused attention.

The game was simple: the first three customers to find seven hidden blue butterflies on our website won a complimentary Chrysocolla necklace (a best-selling item that generates great social traction via Instagram).

The promotion generated a 212% increase from our average email revenue, and a record 48% open rate.

Many customers reached out to personally thank us for the promotional game, as even those who did not win enjoyed playing. Additionally, many asked for us to create more scavenger hunt promotions in the future.
